Grynd Exclusive- Ridin or get kicked out Wes written by @tilsawright

While some people stand still and hope for success. Wesley Jacques is constantly ‘Straight Movin’ as he continues to create a number of business ventures. Mostly known as Wesquik or Wes for short, he is affectionately liked by many he conducts business with. A man of honor, vision and deliverable outcome; has recently shown how he and his team rises from lukewarm to steaming HOT! Which segue way into his latest project ‘Ridin Out’, an online series and his partnership with New York City’s number 1 Hiphop station, Hot97.

Now here’s how Ridin Out works for the culture. Artists submit a 1 minute freestyle and if cast, gets the opportunity to ride with one of Hot97’s phenomenal DJ’s- Dj Magic. If the artist is good while riding in the car with Dj Magic, they get to promote themselves; you know the whole 9 yards. However if they fall off their lyrical bar game, Dj Magic politely kicks them out the car; yeah kind of an Oprah Kleenex moment. The core value and importance of this series is the exposure. Allow me to explain. For more effective publicity, each episode is feature of Hot97 website via their Youtube channel and is also promoted on Hot97 social media platforms.

To be completely honest I started faithfully watching Ridin Out January 2017 and I believe it premiered back in December 2016. So when I saw that Hot97 picked it up in March, I was super excited! Let me also point out that Ridin Out has brought a few unsigned talents to my attention. Artist like Bizzie Monroe, who by the way she is former New York Knick’s shooting guard, Latrell Sprewell’s daughter. Then fresh out the pen and going hard with his career, Brooklyn’s own Lucky Mula. Bizzie and Mula were great however Dj Magic had to kick out Starboy, I tell you in my opinion Starboy was below kindergarten nursery rhymes. Hey I have to be honest.

Oh man! I ran fast like Usain Bolt from Brooklyn to Queens just to have a sit down with Wesquik, as I mentioned above he straight movin at lightning speed. And I wanted readers to know about his businesses. Darn it Wes, you owe me a pair of Nike Zoom Rival spikes!

“Dj Magic came to me with the concept for Ridin Out. The first few episodes we interviewed industry individuals, Uncle Murder, Phresher and Funk Flex to name a few. However viewers were excited when rapper Preme Da Prez from Brooklyn did a freestyle. This prompt us to change the focus. You know what Tilsa! I have to credit a number of people who helped Ridin Out come to life. My friend and director Mr. Moto, casting directors Sheneal Smith and Kevin St. Louis. I honestly love and appreciate their contribution.” He carefully explained to me.
As for ‘Straight Movin’ apparel, Wes and his three partners created and developed this line of merchandise. This brand represents trials in life and business. And for most movers and shakers you already know what time it is? Yes folks, you have to keep things going forward no matter what!

Wes has been following his dream in entertainment since age 14. Hell no! I can’t reveal his age, are you kidding me? Lol, it’s impolite to disclose a very handsome man’s numeric years; besides if you truly want to know (ladies especially). Feel free to attend his weekly Sangria Sunday Brunch from 12-6pm at Mixed Notes Café in Elmont New York.

So before I go, just would like to share a little known fact about Wes. He holds his business relationships, like how Jacob the Jeweler uses his hands to firmly grip precious, priceless stones- dearly treasured. Wes method of operation is to build from friendship to family and trust me, this entertainment industry has only a few with the same MO. In closing, to my readers, I want you to promise me the following. One you will follow Wes at @wesquiklyfe on Instagram. Two religiously watch Ridin Out on Hot97 website or Youtube. Three, roll out to his Brunch or other events; as a matter of fact he host several each week. Support! Support! Let me stress again, support!

Wes, it was a pleasure and thanks for helping me shed 10lbs chasing you for this feature. Until my next write up, peace and love. I am Ridin Out Wes-coast baby!
